Data & Statistics

QVET Australia actively engages with the media, as well as producing research reports to highlight and enhance quality in vocational education and training.

For example, The National Careers Institute (NCI) was created with the intent of ensuring that current and prospective VET students can access reliable information on career pathways and training options. However, as noted in the The House of Representatives Standing Committee on Employment, Education, and Training inquiry into the perceptions and status of vocational education and training (VET) in 2024, it was noted that the NCI is not functioning optimally. Evidence suggested that information on NCI websites was insufficient, out of date or irrelevant, websites were not accessible or user-friendly, and information and guidance had a strong bias in favour of higher education.

The report stated, “There is also compelling evidence that additional granular data should be collected to enable government and other stakeholders to identify, understand and respond appropriately to key issues facing the sector. This should include addressing key gaps in existing data collection mechanisms.”

Our efforts shall include publishing comprehensive research reports that analyse industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices. These reports shall provide valuable insights and recommendations to improve educational outcomes and institutional performance.

Additionally, QVET Australia will engage with the media, advocating for stringent quality standards, effective compliance, and the importance of professional development within the VET sector. Our media presence and research initiatives aim to raise awareness, influence policy decisions, and support the continuous improvement of vocational education and training in Australia.

Through these activities, QVET Australia demonstrates its commitment to maintaining and promoting excellence in the industry.
