QVET Australia Ltd is a public company limited by guarantee under the Corporations Act (Cth) 2001.

QVET, as a membership-based organisation, has the primary purpose of providing a common and collective platform for mutual discourse, advancement, representation, advocacy and a framework for setting quality objectives for private vocational education and training (VET) providers. QVET Australia is committed to supporting and promoting the VET sector in Australia.

Private VET providers in Australia, including CRICOS providers, play a vital role in delivering skills and qualifications to support the country’s workforce and economy. Developed in a collaboration between the Australian government, state authorities, and industry bodies, the VET system equips students with practical skills and knowledge relevant to their chosen careers highly desired by the industry.

Despite playing such a vital role, private VET providers do not have a trusted voice at the highest policy making levels. This results in decisions being made that have major impacts on the viability of many private VET providers. At the same time, there are legitimate concerns about the quality and consistency of education and training provided by some private VET providers in recent years. To address these concerns and promote excellence in private vocational education, the proposed QVET Quality Certified Membership model has been developed.

The core QVET concept and development of quality framework has been the long-time efforts of its founder and director, Vivek Sharma, bringing his two decades old experience in making QVET a reality.
