Education Services for Overseas Students Amendment (Quality and Integrity) Bill 2024

The private VET sector is facing an unprecedented challenge and impact through the current ESOS Amendment Bill 2024. The current CRICOS caps allocations show that the Govt has failed to recognise long-standing and quality providers who have worked hard over the years, contributed greatly to the sector, and are key stakeholders in Australia’s international education economy. Equally, the impact has been greater on the newly established and developing RTOs.
In the current environment, it is of utmost importance that quality providers come together as a collective group and present themselves as key stakeholders in the discussions and consultations that impact the sector – a group or a body of high-quality providers that the Govt. can talk to.
Considering the urgency of the situation, QVET is inviting select and key providers to pledge their support at this time, and enable QVET to make a substantive submission to the Govt. and lobby for amendments in the current Bill, particularly in the allocation of the caps.
